u8-u13 DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY

Our Development Academy program which will run on Monday nights, will take the place of our former “SAQ” night and is a staple and one of the 3 sessions included in our “development stream players” from U8 to U13.

The academy will take on a station based format with focus being placed on individual skill acquisition and development, coordination and agility work and although game play is not something we are focused on within the curriculum, players taking part will still be able to test themselves vs their peers within some of the activities we have planned for them.

Our training group design is to ensure that all players can move between training groups throughout their time spent with us and is NOT a team based academy structure. Groups are formed by the Technical Staff weekly and players participating should anticipate movement throughout. This allows for bio-banding, and does not limit what we can offer to our members due to team roster constraints which at times become problematic.

Because of our structure; we can now offer this program to any of our recreational players not enrolled within one of our development teams. Spots will be limited, and enrollment will be honored with a time stamped “first come, first serve basis”. These players should expect placement within their own training group, but not be limited to it, as staff may move them into a development group if they so choose and if players are deserving.

All players taking part within this academy program will be offered the ability to take part in our newly created club run tournament programming. Please refer to the clubs new Tournament Policies for more information.

Session Time: 5:00–6:00PM:
- U8 (2019 born) Recreational Boys & Girls
- U9 (2018 born) Recreational Boys & Girls
- For U8/U9 boys who register for Development Academy, they will be placed on a team that starts its training session at 6:00pm on Mondays so that players have their academy and team training sessions back-to-back at Mackie. The field locations for both the team training session and development academy session, will be either at Mackie Turf South or North so easy access to one another. Players must register on August 1st to be considered for a team that starts at 6:00pm as team rosters need to be finalized shortly thereafter. Registrations for U8/9 boys must be completed on August 1st, so we can place the child on a team that does not conflict with the Development Academy. Registrations after August 1st, will not be accommodated for these 2 age groups (boys).
Session Time: 6:00–7:00PM
- U10 (2017 born) Recreational Boys & Girls
- U11 (2016 born) Recreational Boys & Girls
- For U11 boys who register for Development Academy, the club will place players on a team that trains at 5:00pm. They will need to leave their team training session at 6:00pm (15 min early) to attend the Development Academy Session. The field locations for both the team training session and development academy session, will be either at Mackie Turf South or North so easy access to one another. Players must register on August 1st to be considered for a team that starts at 5:00pm as team rosters need to be finalized shortly thereafter. Registrations for U11 boys must be completed on August 1st, so we can place the child on a team that does not conflict with the Development Academy. Registrations after August 1st, will not be accommodated for this age group (boys).

REGISTRATION FEE:

$280 per player - no jersey included as players can wear their Green Jersey (short sleeve or long sleeve) if they have one from previous seasons. If they do not, jerseys will be available for purchase.
